Leak detection in Johannesburg

A hidden leak can waste thousands of litres of water before you see it. We track down leaks in walls, floors, ceilings and underground pipes, then repair them.

Signs of a hidden leak

  • Your water bill has gone up and your use hasn't
  • The water meter keeps moving when every tap is closed
  • Damp patches, bubbling paint or mould on walls or ceilings
  • Wet spots or unusually green patches in the garden or paving
  • The sound of running water when nothing is on
  • Low water pressure for no obvious reason

Check your meter first

Close every tap and make sure nothing is using water (toilets, irrigation, washing machine). Take a reading or photo of your water meter, wait 30 minutes and look again. If the numbers have moved, you almost certainly have a leak. Send us the photos on WhatsApp.

Finding and fixing the leak

We work methodically from the meter to the fittings, isolating sections of pipe to narrow down where the water is going, then open up only where we need to. Once the leak is found we repair or replace the damaged pipe and test the system.

Areas we cover

We're based in Braamfontein and work across Johannesburg, including Braamfontein, Johannesburg CBD, Sandton, Randburg, Fourways, Midrand.

Questions about leak detection

Will you have to break walls or floors?

Only where the leak is. We narrow the leak down first so that only a small area needs to be opened for the repair.

Can a leak be underground?

Yes. Leaks in the supply pipe between the meter and the building are common and often show up as a wet patch, sinking paving or a rising water bill.
